Dish Network a leading satellite TV entertainment provider in the United States has recently entered into a long term partnership with Nagravision SA. With the help of this partnership, the pay TV provider is looking forward to ensure the security of its content in the long run. Dish network has announced the execution of a Conditional Access System of agreement with Nagravision. Both the parties are looking forward to have a successful business relation with each other.
Nagravision has recently helped Dish Network to win an anti-piracy battle. The satellite TV provider has won a $51 million case against Robert Ward, an individual who has posted a pirate software on the web. With the help of this software any individual can watch dish TV content using free-to-air receiver. In the verdict the court has made two things clear. One is that positing such software on the web is a violation of the Federal Communication Act and hence is a crime. Secondly the statutory damage of the same will depend on the number of people who have downloaded the software. Thus Nagravision is helping Dish network in protecting its content. According to Dish network, this agreement with Nagravision can be beneficial in the long run.
